The Montecarlo and Scorpion were initially offered with a choice of four solid and four metallic colours. The interior trim, which was in ‘simulated leather’ as standard, was coloured according to the body colour. Cloth interior trim was available as an extra-cost option, as was a leather interior. A body-coloured, polymethacrylate, detachable hard-top to replace the folding spider top was mentioned when the car was launched but none were ever produced.

First-production cars (and probably Scorpions) have the paint code stamped on one of the manufacturers identification plates in the engine compartment. Second production cars have both the paint code and the colour name displayed on two stickers, one affixed to the underside of the engine cover and the other to the inner wheel arch in the battery compartment.
